MIRAGGI is an artistic residency and production support programme for 4 young artists under 30 from the different linguistic regions of Switzerland and Italy. During 6 weeks of research, mentorship and production within historic independent theatres in Ticino, the artists will develop 4 original monologues, creating a shared space where languages, practices and theatrical imaginaries can meet. The project is rooted in the idea of the mirage as a fragile vision: artistic intuitions that often remain in a dreamlike state due to the lack of time, resources or adequate spaces. MIRAGGI aims to offer these visions the conditions needed to become real and shareable stage works, making Ticino a meeting point for emerging contemporary theatre and encouraging dialogue between the country’s different linguistic regions.
