STUDIO MIRA IS A SWISS UNDER-30 CULTURAL ASSOCIATION.
We promote and introduce young talents to the performing arts.
Operating primarily in the Ticino and Lombardy regions, we bring together the skills of many young professionals from the best academies (including NABA, Accademia del Teatro alla Scala, Piccolo Teatro, and CSIA), giving them the opportunity to embark on a regular professional career with a creative journey under their full artistic responsibility.
In a landscape where the highest aspiration of a young person under 30 is often to be an assistant or intern, Studio MIRA offers its collaborators a space in which to practice and experiment their skills in an environment of peers and at the highest levels.
MIRA was founded in 2022 by Romeo Gasparini and Marina Basso at the end of their academic studies. Starting with a simple pen and paper, the production design duo quickly assembled a team of more than ten people, filling 600 seats in Italy and Switzerland in one year.
Our first show Effimero debuted in August 2022 at the Teatro Foce, as part of the Long Lake Festival, and subsequently at the Teatro Renzo Casali in Milan, with subsequent performances in 2023 in Lugano.
MIRA's second production, Il Grande Nulla , will debut in Locarno in January 2025 and will subsequently be performed at the Teatro Foce as part of the LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura Season. The play is a finalist in the 2024 Scintille Competition, organized by the AstiTeatro Festival in collaboration with the Teatro Menotti in Milan and the Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo, and a semifinalist in the Testinscena Competition, promoted by the Claudia Lombardi Foundation.
